I've been having my monthly down time this week, mostly just feeling blah and crabby, so I can't tell you how nice it's been to sit down with a bag of mini muffins (thanks, sweetie!) and look at great geek art all day. These roundups take me a long while to put together, but today it's been the best medicine I could have asked for.
All that to say, if you're feeling less-than-stellar right now, keep scrolling. Things are about to get better.
Nicky Barkla's painting of Alan Rickman was featured on DeviantArt last week, and my gosh, you guys. THE COLORS:
Hnnnnnng.
I immediately zipped over to Barkla's site to see if she sold prints, and OH HAPPY DAY, she does!
I immediately zipped over to Barkla's site to see if she sold prints, and OH HAPPY DAY, she does!
More of my favorites from her shop:
And because this is too magically delicious:
Green-haired Daniel Radcliffe in front of Honeydukes? YES PLEASE.
Prints start at $28, and you MUST see the rest. Click over to Barkla's site to see!
***
I found Karla Rodriguez on Instagram this month and instantly fell in love with her soft, sweet style:
This one's my favorite, but I don't see it in her shop right now. Maybe later?
She does have these, though:
She does have these, though:
... plus lots more! Prints are $10 each, plus there are originals, charms, and stickers. Click here to go shop & drool.
***
I've been following Camilla d'Errico for years and years now, and I've loved watching her style evolve into its current happy-making rainbow-licious goodness:
THIS ONE. Am I right?
Really, her entire animals-on-heads series is pure awesome sauce.
Plus look at these adorable Totoro stickers!
You can shop for prints here at d'Errica's online store, then also check out her Etsy shop for stickers, pins, and other special goodies. (They're sold out now, but her rainbow bumblebees were soooo gooood.)
***
Dustin Panzino recently painted Mercy's Imp outfit from Overwatch, and look how cool:
Also really diggin' the sticker version:
Check out Panzino's Etsy shop for more.
***
Speaking of Overwatch, John and I had to buy some adorable acrylic charms at MetroCon from Michael & Michelle of My Febronia. HAD TO. Here's my shiny new purse clip:
I mostly play Mystery Heroes, so I don't really have a Main... but in a pinch, it's gotta be my girl Orisa.
John got the Bastion:
The characters have different expressions on each side!
Charms are $10 if you buy 1, or $8 if you buy 2 or more.
I love seeing artists expand their merchandise options like this, btw, which is a growing trend in Artists' Alley. As someone with almost zero wall space left, it's nice having an option to buy indie art on charms, stickers, bags, etc.
Speaking of, they also have stickers!
Want. Go check out their Etsy shop to see the rest.
***
I know most of you aren't Overwatchers, though, so let's get back to the classics with these incredible screen prints by Andrew Heath:
John and I stood in front of Heath's booth for a good 5 minutes, just seeing if we could guess all the more obscure fandoms. I'm pretty sure you guys will know these ones, though. ;)
My favorite.
Each print is a limited edition, and most range from $10 - $30, though a few cost more. Go see the rest here!
***
And finally, you MUST see these Disney Vinymation customs by Mark J. Hoffman. I mean, c'mon. LOOK HOW SWEET:
They're all in custom Teacups!
Check out this Haunted Mansion one:
I love how he customized the teacup.
And I saved the best for last, because you better believe his Dreamfinder & Figment are my favorite:
They're even in an orange Teacup! AAAA! It's like he knows me.
It looks like Hoffman only takes commissions through his Facebook page, so give him a follow there to see more of his work, and/or to ask about ordering your own.
I hope this roundup gave you guys a smile! I know it gave me one. :) Now, GIVE-AWAY TIME.
UPDATE: The give-away has ended!
The winner of the Groot print is Angie (who has a blog called My Boat).
And my TWO wild card winners (since we apparently gave away the Rapunzel
print last year, OOPS, haha, isn't my lack of organization adorable??) are "da_finker" & Alinore.
Congrats, you three, and please e-mail me your mailing addresses!
I always love your finds. just amazeballs.

DeleteThose vinylmation teacups are wonderful, but Figment and Dreamfinder are glorious! That and the Totoro stickers are calling to me, they would go great with our Totoro on our car! My daughter would adore the Rapunzel print!
ReplyDeleteThat Alan Rickman print is mesmerizing! I'm totally digging that Quidditch print (which I might have to get for whenever I get a house and do up the basement or living room as a Hufflepuff Common room). That noise you might have heard was me getting to the Figment/Dreamfinder tea cup because those little Mickey ice cream bars!!! Too stinkin' cute. I love the Rapunzel print and, once again, your art roundup was marvelous.

ReplyDeleteMy day started out meh, but then turned into blah. This post did brighten it up, though. I've never seen an episode of Stranger Things, but that depiction of the Christmas lights is outstanding. Also, I thought the "Lion on the head" print was an homage to Luna Lovegood. (Yes, I'm reading OotP right now)
