How do you carry on after a tragedy like last weekend? For me, you gather up as much light and beauty and hope as you can manage, you bury your face in it, close your eyes, and you revel in the warmth.
So let's look at some fun stuff and some prettiness, y'all. Let's revel.
These prints by Carla Wyzgala start at $15, and she has LOTS more at her Etsy shop here. (Note: some potentially NSFW pin-ups there, too.)
Justin Orr of Jusscope has a style that'll hit ya right in the childhood feelz:
Though he has plenty of modern fandoms represented, too:
Prints start at $20, check out his online shop for more.
I'm crushing hard on the sweet storybook style of Penelope R. Gaylord:
Her prints range between $20-$30, check out her Etsy shop for the rest.
My friend Charlie Thurston recently started paper-cutting again, and not only are they some of his best art pieces ever, I am suuuper impressed with how the prints turned out:
Again, those are the prints - and look how 3D they seem!
The owls are my favs. Who wouldn't love grumpy Archimedes delivering your Hogwarts letter?
Prints are $10 over at Charlie's Etsy shop, but you'll have to see him in person for originals, since they're framed and sometimes even backlit with colored LEDs:
DAT PHOENIX, amirite?
Chrissy Albertson, aka Winged Warrior, has a beautiful Princess set out:
Prints are $10, so head to her online shop for more - and use the code "THANKS" for 10% off!
Nionya of Little Chirp Designs positively DESTROYED me with teh cute:
And I think someone tipped her off I was coming, because not ONLY does she have the Labyrinth worm...
Sweet Stay Puft, SHE ALSO HAS STAY PUFT!!
Not to mention a whole host of other adorable characters, both fandom & original:
Necklaces range from just $10 to $20, and I'm having to restrain myself from buying one of everything. (Will... weakening... must... have....) Head over to her Etsy shop to feel my pain.
K, I think that's enough for this month; I'll have the rest of my favorite finds from MegaCon next time!
