You know what helps with Dragon Con and/or holiday weekend recovery?
GEEKY JEWELRY SHOPPING, that's what.
GEEKY JEWELRY SHOPPING, that's what.
First, because I KNOW how much you guys love Toothless:
Squee!
That seller has LOTS to choose from, too, and some are only $25!
The cute, it burns.
Next, for you steampunk Whovians:
Really, steampunk & Doctor Who are a match made in wibbly wobbly heaven.
(And from this season's new intro, I'd say the writers agree!)
I thought I'd seen everything with Harry Potter jewelry, but then, this:
BRILLIANT. I seriously (see what I did there?) want to wear this with a black & white striped shirt for a little Potter-iffic closet 'play.
I'm sure you've seen some of the Mario Piranha Plant earrings before - which are so cute - but check this out: now you can get a matching necklace!
Looks like they're sold out now, but watch her shop for re-stocks.
Hey, Haunted Mansion fans, would you believe each of these Hat Box Ghosts is hand-drawn and one-of-a-kind?
I know because Blake, the artist, is a fan and sent me one. :) That vivid purple & teal is so pretty IRL.
Blake also makes some drool-worthy vintage comic book jewelry. I'm especially loving this little DC Comics ring:
Old DC Logo Ring, $10
It's made from a damaged 1958 comic book, so you can wear a little scrap of history on your finger! Love that. (There's also a larger pendant version.)
Next, for anyone into Middle Earth, Game of Thrones, or medieval stabby things in general:
AAA!! SO COOL. I'm a sucker for jewelry with moving parts, so this sword had me at "removable scabbard." (You can get it with a safety chain connecting the two, if you're afraid of losing it.)
And to go with your sword, how about Cap's shield?
What I love about this one is how BIG it is; a good two inches across! Check the link for a reference pic; it's a great statement necklace.
Something clever for us Sherlock fans:
Who recognizes it??
Yep, that's Moriarty's apple from the Season 2 finale. Awe. SOME. Geekalicious makes two sizes; this is the larger one, which costs just under $15, and the smaller version is about $11.50.
And second: SEAHORSES!!
Ahem.
Ok, I think I've done enough damage to your bank accounts for today. ;)
'Til next time!
Ahem.
Ok, I think I've done enough damage to your bank accounts for today. ;)
'Til next time!
The Azkaban prisoner necklace? WANT. The Toothless necklaces are super cute!
ReplyDeleteI love Kinnakeet Clay! Was admiring some of their work while we were in OBX over the weekend! So neat to see you featuring them today! Great geek jewelry roundup, Jen!
ReplyDeleteDangit, Jen, I'm not supposed to spend any more money til Christmas (I might have gone a little overboard at the DragonCon art auction)!
ReplyDeleteFirst off - sad I didn't manage to find you / meet up at DragonCon. Next, I already have those Toothless guys on my favorites list on Etsy. Finally, OMG SEAHORSES! /faints
ReplyDeleteSo glad I got to chat with you again this year at DragonCon, though I was hoping to catch you in costume! Maybe better luck in the future. :) The only thing I really wanted to buy was a piece of art at the auction that unfortunately was bid up too high for me to afford. :P
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post. I just ordered a pair of Toothless Nightfury earrings!!!! Yay!
ReplyDeleteAwww, the DC ring is already sold out! I love classy renditions of geeky stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe Doctor Who necklace is sold out too! Waaaaaah!
ReplyDeleteLove the Doctor Who necklace. Sad to see its already gone.
ReplyDeleteToothless simply melts my heart. I love How To Train Your Dragon so much. It means even more to me because my friend, who ended up committing suicide a little over a year ago, knew how much I love Toothless and the movie, so he went out and searched and searched and found me a beautiful, velvety, stuffed Toothless for my birthday. It is one of my greatest treasures and reminds me of the good times we had together. Toothless is more than just Toothless to me now; Don lives in him too. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the Bloggess is into stabby things... :P
ReplyDeleteI'm into medieval stabby things! I remember drooling over a necklace like that as a teenager, and then became very disapointed when I realised the scabbered wasn't removable. I'll have to consider getting this one for myself as a belated birthday gift.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh I need that seahorse pendant for my steampunk beachcomber!! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you for featuring my work, Jen! Again, I love your blog in all its geekiness.
ReplyDeleteI have another Hatbox Ghost posted, along with a Dreamfinder and Figment for all you Disney geeks (stay tuned for possible Figment COMIC pendants!). Here is the link for more Hatbox Ghost: https://www.etsy.com/listing/202364290/hatbox-ghost-hand-drawn-disney-pendant?ref=shop_home_active_1
If you are interested, I should also have another DC Ring posted in a day or two!
I think we've found my daughter's Christmas present! Thank you! And speaking of Steampunk whovians, the yard ape went to her first con this year (Tosho-Con 3) and came as a steam punk time lady.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which... Here's she is in full cosplay mode:
