I can't even make this stuff up, you guys.
The original PSA came out last year, but this year Statefarm asked John Boswell, the famous Youtube auto-tuner, to remix it for them, with glorious results.
Not only is it equally catchy and cheesy, this PSA marks the first time I've ever heard William Shatner sing in tune. FASCINATING.
Now I'm going to have "dingle dangle!" stuck in my head all day.
Happy Thanksgiving, guys! (Unless you're somewhere it isn't Thanksgiving. Then happy regular weekday!)

That is fabulous. Sitting here with my coffee waiting in the calm before the storm and that just pushed it to perfection.
ReplyDeleteDingle, *dang*le, dingle, *dang*le
I think all that can be said for this is "What the Shat?"
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I think I have a new Thanksgiving tradition.
ReplyDeleteThis was hilarious! "Dingle-Dangle" was the best. :) Thanks for posting this Jen. It's been a while since I've seen a clean, creative and unique commercial - props to the State Farm people.
ReplyDeleteMy family inflicted the terrible tween pop Thanksgiving song upon me (if you have no idea what I'm talking about, I envy you). I'm sensing sweet sweet revenge. : D
ReplyDeleteMake... the... earworm... stop... Maketheearwormstop...
ReplyDeleteThanks for this...I've watched it twice and my hubby is sitting next to me singing it lol
ReplyDeleteI think this might almost be a replacement for Alices' Restaurant!
ReplyDeleteI wrote a Thanksgiving song, but it is not nearly a popular... maybe next year!
ReplyDeleteIt's Thanksgiving- a song
Oh my goodness! We had this on repeat all day as we cooked... Where's the dingle dangle?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the find!
Reminds me of the Symphony of Science stuff by Melodsheep. The music follows the melodic themes almost exactly.
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious. He's not singing, he's talking, though. That's why it's on pitch. He spoke the words and they added the tone and pitch via auto-tune, which explains the electronic sound.
ReplyDeleteDeep Fried Turkey???? Wow never heard of that before. As a non-American I must ask, is it really such a popular dish to warrant such a gizmo?
ReplyDeleteLesley
I love it! thanks for that.
ReplyDeleteA little late to the game, but we watched this video last night, it is made of awesome! I had "I want a DEEP FRIED TURKEY" stuck in my head all night...
ReplyDeleteI'm way late on this one too - just catching up after ALL the holidays - we deep fry a turkey every year and this PSA is a bit late for Thanksgiving and Christmas but we try turkey year round so maybe other do as well. Make sure the turkey is completely defrosted and dry - wet cold turkes make the oil boil over - and that is dangerous for you, me and Will Shat! LOL
