Those are two expensive toys to begin with, but I am sorely tempted. Talk about a great display piece!
- The Princess Bride turned 25 the other week (INCONCEIVABLE!) and a few lovely interviews with the cast came out to celebrate. Here's one with Cary Elwes (plus snippets from the rest of the crew), and a much sweeter one with Mandy Patinkin. (thx for the link, Sara W.!)
- BoingBoing posted a big roundup of behind-the-scenes Disneyland photos like this one:
What I wouldn't give for a picture riding the rhino! Sadly my own Skipper shenanigans never extended beyond playing "Dead Skipper" and climbing on top of the boat awnings for a spin around the ride. :D
- YESSSSS - Epbot reader Caroline accepted my challenge to attend Doktor A's show in New York City last weekend, and she even took pictures for me! Here she is with the man himself:
And if you head over to her Google Plus album you'll see more fabulous photos of the show like this one:
Gah. So gorgeous.
A huge thank you to Caroline and Doktor A for conspiring to make me grin like a fool. Thanks, guys!
- I've been not-so-secretly addicted to crazy makeup videos for a few years now, and this Corpse Bride tutorial is the best I've seen in ages:
UPDATE: Sorry, guys, but I decided to take down the video link. Someone pointed out that it might be from a questionable source and not intended for public viewing, which made me feel like a creep for pointing people to it. It's still on Youtube, of course, and there's certainly nothing bad about it - just a little goofy dancing - but I'd rather err on the side of caution, just in case. Again, sorry!
OMG HATTER.
ReplyDeleteJen, have you not seen SyFy's ALice? Andrew Lee Potts is Hatter and he's wonderful. It starts out slow but I love it.
I can't watch the vid at school, so I'll have to come back to it later. I actually saw Himself in Frankenstein first (mind blowing!) and then got into Sherlock more quickly because of that. I also watched Amazing Grace last week - which was amazing. I have THREE Sherlock pinterest boards, and have discovered beautiful fan art on Tumbler...when I should be studying! Darn it all... :)
ReplyDeleteDying of laughter...
ReplyDeleteThank you for Benedict. Delightful!
ReplyDeleteI have not gotten to Sherlock yet (still playing catchup with Doctor Who), but I must thank you for that little glimpse of Mr. Potts. I loved Primeval, and he was (eventually) my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI first heard Benedict Cumberbatch in Cabin Pressure--a BBC radio sitcom in which he plays a dithering airline pilot. It is an hysterical show and it will blow your mind how much he can change characters.

Today is a a day when I definitely needed to see Benedict Cumberbatch dancing to Thriller. Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteFYI, I am in a lot of Benedict Cumberbatch related groups who generally discourage sharing that video because it came from a hacked source (Ben's ex, who never intended for it to be shared). Not casting any aspersions add I happen to love that video - and Ben, natch - I would be remiss if I didn't mention it.
ReplyDeletebooo...none of the vids are there... I'm sure they're awesome, tho...
ReplyDeleteKelly, the YouTube account belongs to his ex and doesn't appear to have been hacked. It says in the comments she'll keep it up as long as no copies are made... so I think she's ok with us watching it.
ReplyDeleteARGH Andrew Lee Potts is so adorable he makes my face hurt.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, thank you for posting this. The world needs more of him. (Can you tell I've never watched Sherlock? lol)
Oh my gosh, AND you watch Sherlock???
ReplyDeleteIt's like we were meant to be.
Oh Benedict - I will never see you the same way again. PERFECT! Horrifying and mesmerizing all at the same time. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAh, The Princess Bride, one of my top five movies of all time, and one of the most quotable movies ever.
ReplyDeleteI worked with a guy once, and it was his favorite movie. We used to refer to each other as Westley and Buttercup, and whenever I asked him to do something, he would answer "As you wish".
I do think every woman wants to hear that said to them. After watching the movie, it is so much more powerful than a simple "I love you".
I'm not sure why but video made me feel squibbley inside and not in a good way. It seemed voyeuristic and for some reason made me feel like a sketchy person. Yeah, I probably think too much.
ReplyDeleteI don't get what the concern is about...the link is to Olivia's YouTube page, and she hasn't taken it down even though they broke up (although I do find it inconceivable that anyone would break up with him! :). Benedict clearly knows he's being filmed. Why does anyone dance to Thriller at a wedding if they don't want to be filmed and up on YouTube within the hour, anyway? :)
ReplyDeletePlus, out of all the things of him that are floating around the internet, this is pretty tame...and none of those seem to bother him... :P
And I've just added Cabin Pressure to my list of things to check out - I wonder if they have the eps as podcasts? That would be cool!
I love that video. Just stumbled across it one day. I mean, it's up there for everyone to see and hasn't been taken down in years. You know, it wouldn't be such a big deal if it was anyone but him. Cumberb****es be crazy.
ReplyDeleteLove all the videos here. I would also recommend Cabin Pressure, was lucky enough to see John Finnemore the writer and 'Arthur' this summer. Very excited for halloween make up trials now.
ReplyDeleteJennifer
Hmm, an entire Air Supply-themed post on Cake Wrecks and a mention of "Sherlock" and Benedict here. One of my best definitions of perfect!
ReplyDeleteI am a HUGE fan of Promise Tamang-Phan and it absolutely made jump for joy to see her featured on your blog ;) She really does great work!
