We're Trekkies And We Know It
Though people often mistake me for a bigger Star Wars fan, the truth is my first sci-fi love has always been Star Trek. There just aren't as many awesome Trek goodies out there for me to post about, so 'Wars tends to get a lot more love here on Epbot.
But today, thanks to a link from Jennifer P. on the Epbot FB page, I get to even the score a little.
Yes, it's ridiculously cheesy. Yes, you're probably not going to want anyone around you to see or overhear what you're watching. And yes, I realize I'm reaching new heights (depths?) of extreme geekdom by posting this.
BUT I DARE YOU NOT TO LAUGH.
(Personally, I lost it at "C-Captain Kirk out," and "Tribbletribbletribbleyeah." And the non-stop pelvic thrusts/dancing, of course. Hee!)
LL&P, y'all. J-Jen out.

That... that is the best thing I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteThat was full of awesome! I laughed at all the "Khaaan!" scream-faces. Then I made my geek husband and geek son watch it with me. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNice to see Vulcan Alberta flash by in the background. :)
ReplyDeleteThank God no one was in the office when I watched this. Cause I was so "tribble tribble tribble'n" along with them. It was so wrong, but it felt so right!
ReplyDeleteKhaaan!
ReplyDeleteThat was AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteHeee, that was fun, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the Star Trek - Tik Tok mashup? It's a big pile of classic Trek awesomesauce.
I lost it at KHAAAAN. Hahahah thanks, Jen. My morning is so much better now!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying!!! That was GREAT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSQUEEEEE
ReplyDeleteSo glad you liked.
Trek has always been my first love too. Wesley Crusher cemented my love for geeks every week as he saved the ship, once again.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go pet my tribble and watch the video yet again.
I'm a Trekkie and I know it. (I've always been a Trekkie, dunno about the whole Trekker thing, but either way, I'm a fan of Star Trek.)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for posting that! Huh-larious.
ReplyDeleteINCREDIBLE. And yes, I definitely closed the door before watching. My neighbors know I'm crazy, but this is a bit much. KHAAAAAAAAANNNNN!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for finding me the first laugh of the day! I lost it at "tribble tribble tribble yea".
ReplyDeleteHey Jen,
ReplyDeleteI have a favor to ask. When you embed youtube videos, could you put the title of them in your post? Work blocks embeded youtube videos, but if I had the title to search for it, I could still watch them.
(well, or wait until I get home to watch, but that just kills me!)
Thanks! (And I totally love Trek more than Wars, too!)
Beautiful. Just beautiful. Brings a tear of pride to my eye.
ReplyDeleteSuper Double Rainbow Unicorn with glitter sprinkles <3 this!
ReplyDeleteThis just made my day!!! I love the "KHAAAAAN" part, I almost fell out of my chair laughing!
ReplyDeletewow - that's almost as good as the Elmo version =oD
ReplyDeleteThat was great! My hubby is a Trekkie to and the other day when I tossed him the remote and told him he had the "Con"....he was soooo proud!
ReplyDeleteCan't. Stop. Watching. This. Thank. Now I will be unproductive all day. Love it!
ReplyDeleteK.
I'm so stoked!! Now every time I hear the original, I'll think of this, instead! I like it MUCH better! ;-)
ReplyDelete(KHAAAAAAANNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Love it! :) Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteI fell in love when they kept showing clips of Kirk yelling "KHAAAAN!" What a great find!
ReplyDeleteLOL - thanks for sharing that! Yeah, it's a little harder to find the Trek stuff compared to Star Wars - maybe because it is more cerebral than Wars, fewer people truely appreciate it. (That and George keeps redoing all the Star Wars...)
ReplyDeleteI will always love Trek more because it is the main reason I met my husband. =)
LOVE it! Thanks for sharing it with me. I, in turn, sent it on to George Takei on Facebook. LOL
ReplyDeletetribbletribbletribbletribbletribbleyeah *pelvic thrust*
Oh, thank you! I think my family may have a new anthem here.
ReplyDeleteI about died at "tribble tribble tribble tribble tribble." What a great job. There should be some kind of contest where geek song parodies get compared and voted on...
ReplyDelete*That* was a thing of beauty...brilliant! My whole family are Trekkies, starting with my parents, who watched TOS in the 60s! Will definitely have to share with the family!!
ReplyDeleteThe number one way non-geeks offend me is by assuming because I'm a huge Trekkie - like had a Klingon wedding at a recent Star Trek convention - I care equally about Star Wars. I like it, don't get me wrong, but I'm not into Star Wars. There are many other sci fi properties I personally love far more than Star Wars and less than Star Trek.
ReplyDeletethat was awesome! love the use of the pink hot glue gun as a phaser! tribble tribble tribble tribble yeah!
ReplyDeleteThat just made a frustrating day soooooo much better. You have a knack for doing that, Jen, and I hope you know how much we all appreciate that. My new reduce-stress mantra will definitely be tribble tribble tribble tribble tribble, yeah!
ReplyDeleteI love this!!! I am such a trekkie - a tradition in our family was that every Saturday night we would make pizza and watch Star Trek. :D I miss those nights - my hubby and kids and I still make pizza every Saturday night, but Star Trek isn't on at the right time anymore. :( Altho, now we have cable....maybe I could find it, DVR it, and watch it with pizza on Saturdays....excuse me, I must explore this possibility now....live long and prosper!
ReplyDeleteThat was fantastic! Especially since we just had the original track in my zumba class this evening.
ReplyDeleteLoved tribble-tribble-tribble-tribble-tribbling :)
I can't imagine you won't already have seen this, but have you encountered Star Trek Knights of the Round Table ?
All I could think of was Kenny Everett. Spooky.
ReplyDeleteI seriously have tears rolling down my face right now. Thankyouthankyouthankyou for sharing.
ReplyDelete"Pet my tribble" sounds dirty. Just sayin'.... LMAO
ReplyDeleteYeah, KHAAAAAAAAN was the part where I lost it. Almost died laughing. Seriously. :) This was awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou totally made my day! I have watched this 3 times and now my kids are walking around the house singing, "Just beam me up Scotty."
ReplyDeletehahahahaha I grew up with my mom relating life to various Star Trek episodes, and if we hadn't seen the episode in question she'd sit us down and make us watch it as a "cultural experience" now at 17 I have seen every episode of the original series and next generation.... she told me the other day that I could only marry a nerd (I pointed out that she didn't and that I've always considered myself a geek not a nerd)
ReplyDeleteI work on a Star Trek (video) game, and this definitely made the rounds at the office.
ReplyDeleteAdmittedly, I was cursing the guy who sent it around. The original song is catchy enough! haha
What cracked me up was at about 3:00 when the dude in the yellow tunic was aping Kirk's signature "let me hold my chin in my hand" posture.
ReplyDeleteOur family is a bunch of geeks and total Trekkies. Just last month we went to the Star Trek exhibit at the St. Louis Science Center...Awesome!!! Had family photos taken on the bridges of both the original series and STNG Enterprises and on the transporter pad which are going to be in our Christmas card this year! This video is a hoot! The tribbles part totally cracked me up!! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I ever remember seeing on TV was Mr. Spock, taking off a Nazi helmet and revealing pointy ears. It was 1968, I was 5 and I've been hooked ever since.
ReplyDeleteI once got out of upsetting a dear friend who wanted me to name my gestating son after her dying father, James, by explaining, "Jim means something really horrible in Romulan." (It say's so in Diane Duane's "My Emeny, My Ally.) The book never did say what it meant, (darn!) and I was actually grasping at any excuse because I just didn't want to use the name James, but we were all big enough geeks that it ended the conversation without hurting anyone's feelings.
SOO Much better than the original lol. Love that they look like normal guys and not steroid bunnies heehee.
ReplyDeleteHad great fun at the first Middle East Comicon in April, sadly, I was the only Trekkie in costume. Love both Star Trek and Star Wars equally (original trilogy), so I also channeled Leia (had the hair buns!), but it was great fun to finally get to an actual comicon yay! (PS: my security words are "ichol htnes" - this sounds like some kind of weird shorthand chemical concoction in a steampunk laboratory hahahaha)
I thought the Galaxy Quest shout-out at the end simply sealed the whole deal!
ReplyDeleteKHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!
ReplyDeleteThat was all kinds of awesome :)
ReplyDeleteI love the DS9 episode where they go back in time to the Tribble episode.
I was having a bad day, but this helped. Thanks, Jen!
ReplyDeleteThank you *so much* for posting this! I'm going to Ottawa Comicon tomorrow, and this has just become my theme song for the weekend :)
ReplyDeleteKHAAAAN!!!
OMG. That was a riot! The guy in the red sweater totally needs to be my boyfriend.
