I laughed, I sighed, and I boogied around the office. Not sure you can ask more of a video than that.
You may have seen Nick sing before; the viral video of him singing Aladdin's "Whole New World" was everywhere at one time. If you *haven't* heard him before, though, then "be prepared" [heh] for a bit of a shock. And let me assure you: yes, that's really him singing. All of it. Honest.
For more, be sure to check out Nick's Youtube channel. Oh, and if you love Wicked as much as I do, don't miss Nick's version of "For Good" with Sam Tsui!
He's just so awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish MY voice was that nice...
Maybe I need some lessons from him!
Oh well, I'll live with my Alto ladies voice!
Wow! I had not seen him yet. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteah- maaaa- zing!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! I was grinning like an idiot throughout the whole thing :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Wonderful and ridiculous at the same time. Love it!
ReplyDeleteSaw this yesterday, and yes, I was grinning like a 5 year old when he busted out the Mouse Ears! :D
ReplyDeleteTHAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteand i agree with that hover-text; alan menken does equal awesomeness.
I don't even know where to start! 1. Amazing, let's just get that out there. 2. Uhm.. he has a Flounder, Lumiere, and Cogsworth. 3. I love the epic waves in the Little Mermaid scene! And the mash-up of Go the Distance and Reflection was perfect! Thanks so much for sharing:D:D:D
ReplyDeleteI had not seen that! I love the crabby villain faces during the duets :D
ReplyDeleteHad not seen this--or Nick--before. LOVED IT! I'm now a subscriber to his channel.
ReplyDelete*SIGH* I had the same dream he had, to be the voice of a Disney character. And I would do both the speaking AND singing parts! Alas...but it's fun to pretend and sing along! The wave was the best part! He's a spot on double for Aladdin's singing voice. Thanks for posting that--it really made my day!
ReplyDeleteThe Burton Inspiration
Thanks for sharing, this is amazing!
ReplyDeleteOMG that guy's vocal range is just ridiculous-ly amazing! That's, what, like 5 octaves? 6? 7? Ca-razy!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to marry him. It has been decided.
ReplyDelete;P
That was super fun! Now I want to take my kids to Disney World. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThat. Was. AMAZING! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFirst- thought he was a woman
ReplyDeleteSecond- OMG he is AMAZING!
Such a talented man!
Bu such a freak!
*jaw drop* That was amazing!!! I had never seen him before. He's got major skills... Love it!
ReplyDeleteaaaand I have a new subscription on YouTube. But I wish I could remember where "Go the Distance" is from... I KNOW I've seen that movie... just can't place it.
ReplyDeleteWOW! I loved it, what an amazing talent. He's adorable too. Now I've got to watch the rest of his videos.
ReplyDeleteDang. Just, dang.
ReplyDeleteAnd he's kinda cute, too. ;-)
YEAH! Made me smile for sure!! I love how accurate he is with the male voices from the Disney movies. VERY close to many of them. The fact that he has so much control over his voice, to instantly go into a falsetto/'female' voice, is astounding. He truly has a gift!
ReplyDeleteI went to his youtube channel and watched his senior project that he animated AND did the voice over for. So awesome. Can't wait to see more from him through Pixar and his channel. :)
Freakin' awesome!
ReplyDeleteI need to go to Disney World again . . .
Freakin' awesome!
ReplyDeleteNeed to go to Disney . . .
I am FLOORED!!! he's amazing and hilarious
ReplyDeleteWow!! This is the first time I've seen one of Nick's videos and I'm still smiling! Heading over to YouTube to check out more. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteWho IS this guy?
ReplyDeleteo.O
That is seriously impressive. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDelete~Jeccaess
Oh my goodness... LOVE! I have watched this way more times than I want to admit this evening. Best thing I've seen in quite some time! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat was AWESOME!! :D
ReplyDeleteSamantha,
ReplyDeleteIt's from Hercules and it's my favorite Disney song of all time.
I get all weepy.
john
Nick also works at Pixar, according to his account page. How has he not spontaneously combusted of his own awesomeness?
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!!!! He is awesome. I am a HUGE Disney fan and will be up all night watching him.
ReplyDeleteI had one of the worst days at work and I ended my day with a big grin. Thanks for sharing that. Except I did cry during Go the Distance. That song always gets to me!
ReplyDeleteDay. Made.
ReplyDeleteThat is all.
I absolutely LOVED it and, thank you muchly for the post inspiration.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh my gosh! I was smiling like an idiot the entire time. hahaha
ReplyDeleteI need this on my iPod.
I love all of the characters. The timing must have taken forever. (Notice the chorus handing the people above, the menus)
You think if I wish REALLY hard I'll get a singing voice like that? (And loose weight so I don't have to diet?)
only problem with it that I had was the fact that I checked it out while at work... so was constantly checking over my shoulder to make sure I wasn't getting caught.
ReplyDeleteNot going to stop me checking out the rest of them tho, that was brilliant!
My fiance showed this to me last night. I was extremely impressed with this gentleman's vocal range! It takes a lot of practice to be able to sing that well over that wide a range of notes.
ReplyDeleteSo, how many geek points do I get for being able to identify all of the movies the songs came from, except one? And I pretty sure that the song I don't know is from Tangled....
Holy crap...haven't seen him before and he is just something else (in the amazing way). :)
ReplyDeleteIN-CRE-DI-BLE!
ReplyDeleteJen, I watched this video with my 8 day old daughter in my arms and it made me cry* and want to take her to Disney world. Thank you for sweetening our morning!
ReplyDelete*I'm still full of crazy hormones.
I had never heard of this guy before now, and OMG I am in love. Well, not really, but you know...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the awesomeness!! :D
Jen and John: I love you. Thank you so much for being sooo awesome. I was having a serious bad morning and this was exactly what I needed. I absolutely LOVE both Epbot and CakeWrecks. This is where any geeky, steampunky, creative, Disney-lovin' gal can go and find her fix. :D
ReplyDeleteKatyChrista
OMG!! That is the most amazing thing I've ever seen! And that's why I check out this page every day, you have the neatest stuff on here that is sometimes amazing, often hilarious and always makes my day better :)Thank you so much for what you do!
ReplyDeleteWOW. I thought it was amazing with just the singing, and then the funny faces and props too? Pure awesomeness. Even my husband who doesn't like Disney stuff (I know, boo-hiss) saw what I was watching and asked me to e-mail him the link so he could see it too. Thank goodness I am going to Disney this year, because I am definitely ready!
ReplyDeleteOH.
ReplyDeleteEm.
Gee.
I don't know whether to laugh, get the goosebumps, or bug-eyedly stare open-mouthed at the computer screen while my Huz asks "Are you okay, babe?" 100 times during Nick's performance.
Yeah, I went for Option #3.
Wow. He really could just take over vo duties for everyone. It's so great to know that there are still young(ish, I have no idea how old he is) developing actual talent and having such fun with it!
ReplyDeleteMy girls and I were just watching this yesterday. We love Nick's songs. He really has an amazing voice. The girls were wondering why Disney would need any other voice actors when they could just hire Nick for all of them. ;)
ReplyDeleteI hadn't seen this one yet - I knew he could scare the bejeepers out of you with his falsetto, but I'd never heard his low range. This was fun. And I don't even -like- Disney.
ReplyDelete... Oh yes, I said it! So there! :P
Thank you so much for this link. My daughter and I LOVE Nick. We had not seen "For Good" with Sam, but now we are huge Sam fans too!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing all of these wonderful links.
That was amazing. Also incredibly strange but definitely more awesome. =)
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing!
ReplyDeleteHehe, it's so fun to see people you know! I went to the same art school as him ( he was in computer animation and a year ahead). He works at Pixar (last i heard) and he even sang during his interview for them! That cracks me up every time! I wish him the best and love seeing fellow alumni succeed!!
ReplyDeleteWow, yet another amazing thing I wouldn't have known about if it weren't for you. Thanks Jen!
ReplyDeleteNo, really. :D
I can't stop laughing at all of the different faces he makes XD
ReplyDeleteI watched this just a couple of days before you posted it, and had never heard of the guy before. It seriously took until the bad French accent that I realized he was actually singing all of that and not lip-synching! Ridiculously talented!
ReplyDeleteJen, forget the cake wreck cranky peeps, you are amazing. Well, John too since I met you both at a book signing and you are all kinds of awesome.
ReplyDeleteI usually skip embedded videos but this one I watched. Hilarious. Adorable.
Then I read your note that it was him singing each part and WOAH. I do believe the Wicked duet you linked to is my new favorite video - Sam Tsui is also so so talented.
Loving your awesomeness!
found this today when looking for something else for a friend: http://thedilettantista.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/steampunk_princess_by_helleetitch.jpg
