Spoiled Rotten

For some reason this past month has seen me showered - showered, I say! - with amazing goodies the likes of which I've never been showered. And it's all your fault. Yes, you guys.

Seriously, I've been writing CW for over two years now - with I think some success - but never once has a Wreckie surprised me with, say...

A VINTAGE TYPEWRITER!?!

This came in the mail recently from Cris, a reader of uncommon generosity and unnaturally fabulous handwriting.

Now, I'm not generally the most reactive of persons, but as soon as I got to the word "typewriter" in Cris' note I actually squealed and attacked the bubble wrap like a woman possessed. Isn't it adorable? It's also quite timely, as I am working on the mother-of-all projects right now that includes - oh, yes - typewriter elements. Not that I'll be using this beauty, of course: it's getting a nice cleaning and then put out for display.

And as for my big project: I'm still not sure all my efforts are going to work, so you'll have to sit in suspense for a little while. (Although I bet some of you can guess what I'm up to. [eyebrow waggle])


Next, Kaaren-with-2-A's carved out a place in my heart with this fanTABulous Epbot stamp:

He looked cleaner before I started playing with him. Heh.

I've never done anything with stamping before, so obviously this is going to take a little practice. Even so, doesn't he look great? I think I'll use him to make some Thank You cards; clearly, I need some! (Oh, and check Kaaren's blog for more of her amazing stamp designs - hellooo, Firefly!!)

And finally, just today Amber B.'s Box O' Geeky Delights arrived. You may remember I mentioned the Mario hats she made for her kids a while back. Well, she went and made a pair for me and John:

Don't worry; my head is much bigger than Kermit's. (Much, MUCH bigger.)

And as if THAT wasn't enough, Amber also made me a mere-words-cannot-describe-how-awesome steampunk tote:

Amber tells me my seahorse tutorial helped inspire the design - and she did, in fact, do a beautiful job aging the seahorse pendant. There's also a pearl and crystal dangle, some copper chain, abalone beads, and all the intricate metal charms are hand-stitched in place. I mean, really. WOW.

So, now I have at least one awesome thing for my steampunk costume. :D

And finally, here's a gift I'm actually going to share. Well, with three of you lucky readers, anyway:

So check this out: during the Star Wars Celebration I tweeted something like,

"I'm wearing my Ghostbusters-chasing-Pacman ghosts shirt and a Nintendo controller belt buckle. So yes, this IS my costume."

The shirt I was talking about is My Favorite Geek Shirt Of All Time, so when folks asked where they could get such a shirt, I shared the link. (Somewhat grudgingly, I admit; I like being the only one wearing that shirt, dangit!)

Anyhow, next thing I know, Glennz Tees (the designer and maker of said shirt) had looked up my previous orders, taken note of both the shirts I didn't have yet and my size, and shipped me off a bundle of geek shirts. (!!) It was a total surprise, and if I didn't already think Glennz Tees is the Dizzle, then this really would have sold me.

So, it's time to share the love! The LOST and 3D glasses designs above are both a ladies XL, and the masked honey thief is a large. (The sizes are just a bit bigger than your average Junior sizing, gals, so judge accordingly.)
