Ok, forget the sloth.
Now I'll take a baby otter, if you please.
Watch 'til the end, because believe me, it just keeps getting better. I think I had a religious experience at 1:35; suddenly my Monday grumpies were replaced with soft, squishy feelings of love. And double rainbows. Yeah. You heard me.
More pics of this little fur ball over at Zoo Borns, the blog that makes me increasingly dissatisfied with the cuteness quotient of my cats. Why can't you look like this, cat? WHY?!?
Can't. Stop. Squealing.
ReplyDeleteYou could try throwing your cat in the battub. That's be kind alike an otter. Coarse it might also be suicidal.
ReplyDeleteThis otter video inspires emotions in me somewhere inbetween the "Love Him and Squeeze Him..." Abominable Snowman from Looney Tunes and Lenny from Of Mice & Men...
ReplyDeleteOh, that is such a cutey! I love his (her?) squeaky little voice.
ReplyDeleteVery cute. But, of course, you can't keep wild animals. You can, however, have goats. Do you have a backyard? Adorable, trainable, silly, mischievous. They even wag tails and smile. You can see mine here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrB7yCVh3fU or watch them on the goatcam.com. (It's a public service for those who don't have enough cute in their lives.)
ReplyDeleteDouble rainbow ALL THE WAY!
ReplyDeleteAll together now...
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwwwwwwww....
I just melted from the cuteness. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWV: conter - I conter think of anything cuter than baby otters.
OMG! Sooooo cute! I <3 otters already and now I'm in love. :) I agree 1:35 is about the best part.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Thanks for posting this. Too cute! Now I want one. =)
ReplyDeleteOH HOLY CUTENESS. I think I just exploded. I love otters. I would like one too please.
ReplyDeleteBetter than DOUBLE rainbows? ("what does it meeean?")
ReplyDeleteYou're right, though - I have a silly grin on my face now.
I want one! The little squeaky noises! Can you say AWWWWWWWWWWWWW?!
ReplyDeleteI'm still a big fan of the baby sloth, but this otter did make me feel mushy. I don't know why, but the combing part just about killed me. Tazo looked so relaxed!
ReplyDeleteIf you think the baby otter is a double rainbow, get ready for a full-on triple rainbow: the slow loris.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9f-6jygRJk
I would want one! But the scat...ick. So cute though!
ReplyDeleteOh. My. Goodness. That's all I have to say.
ReplyDeleteOMG...I've always loved otters, but this was just over the top cuteness!
ReplyDeleteI remember when I was young and went up to Monterey Aquarium and fell in love with Flip the Otter and his story...I think I still have the stuffed Flip somewhere... hmmm now I wanna go find him! LOL =)
OMG, they were adorable.
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how much that has helped my day.
ReplyDeleteForget *having* a baby otter. I want to *be* a baby otter.
ReplyDeleteI have *always* wanted an otter! But my husband loves to remind me that a bathtub is not an adequate habitat for one. Now I see I have been going about it the wrong way, what I really want is that job!!!
ReplyDeleteToo freakin cute! I want to squeeeeze it. The Loris the other commenter mentioned is a.dor.a.ble
ReplyDeleteI think my birds may have it all topped though. My indian ringneck walks up to his girlfriend, a cockatiel, says "Hi, Pretty bird" Kisses her on top of the head (kissing sound and all) and then shuffles off all shy. He immediately turns around, and comes back to do it again. He'll do it over and over -forever- or until his girlfriend gets annoyed and flies off. They are just painfully cute sometimes.
GAH!
ReplyDeleteSo fluffy and cute! The grooming part cracked me up.
ReplyDeleteDarn, somebody got to the Double Rainbow ALL THE WAY! before me. It's true, tho. This is TOTALLY double rainbow.
ReplyDeleteJust when I think you couldn't be any more in my head, you go and post this ;)
ReplyDeleteI so want an otter (have ever since I read Island of the Blue Dolphins as a child) and every summer I go to the MN Zoo as they have 3 different kinds of Otters to see!
I always try to convince my husband we need an otter (and a goat, but that's a different story) and I think this video might help. Well, probably not, but it's so darn adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, that is the cutest thing I think that could exist. Their noises are so cute and just make you wanna hug the stuffing out of them.
ReplyDeleteOtter has always been first place in pets I would love to have. Ooooooh, love. :)
ReplyDeleteI would name him Emmit.
Oh.my.goodness. The cuteness is oozing and all I can do is squeal and clap in response!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this post...so cute!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite stuffed animal was Seymour the otter. I still have him tucked away in the attic, but years of love have worn off his ears, nose, whiskers and the shell on his chest. He kind of looks like a large fetus now.
ReplyDeleteI've never shown him to my husband. He would just worry and so far all of his appendages are firmly attached. So he's got that going for him...
Squeaky! Fluffy! Flippery! Fuzzy! And other-otter-nose-kissy! You're killing me with cuteness here, Jen.
ReplyDeleteOmigod that is just about the most insanely cute thing i have ever seen. Jen, if you ever get an otter, you might find me inside your house in the dead of night. ;) awwwwwwwww!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love love LOVE otters!! I think they should have a zoo that's just otters. I could sit and watch them play and swim all day. :)
ReplyDeleteDamn straight DOUBLE RAINBOW!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love otters so much. Love to watch them tumble and play together! They remind me of my ferrets the way they play. They are related to otters! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mustelidae Ferrets are not so into the water, though.
ReplyDeleteAwwww so adorable!! I think I want one now lol.
ReplyDeleteMy three-year-old went crazy for the baby otters. We had to go to the site, and she watched every video 5 pages back. For every post she said, "I want to hold it." I think I just found my new way to calm her down when she starts throwing a tantrum.
ReplyDeleteWV: gootogob- the way you feel when you look at baby otters.
OK. It is a good thing I am on a break right now, because I just spent WAAAAAYYYY too much time on that zooborns site! So flippen adorable, I was afraid I would be "awwwwww"ed out...but then another picture/video came up and there I went again! Thanks for the great links :)
ReplyDeleteso cute! so fuzzy! aaaw :) they were always the funnest (most fun?) to watch at the aquarium!!!
ReplyDeleteNow what we need is a baby otter/sloth hybrid, although it may just cause squee-induced paralysis in most of the population.
ReplyDeleteI WANT a baby otter NOW, daddy! /veruca salt
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, how cute are they? And the one trying to get the other one to play in the pool? He's like, "c'mon, play, play, c'mon, play with me, play!"
Aw, that is just about the darlingest thing I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteSea otters are adorable, love the way their mamas rolls them in seaweed to set them for a nap.
ReplyDeleteIf I ever decided to go Wacko Jacko I'd like a waterfall and pond in the backyard with river otters, because more than float they PLAY ALL THE TIME.
Dana Lynn - we want video of your birds.
from Jeanine in Orlando
I thought you might like this, I think its awesome!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JMEz6tS6IM
damn my work for block youtube... will need to check this out on my phone...
ReplyDeleteOK, now I want to lie on a towel and have someone comb my fur...if, y'know, I HAD fur. I think that elissa (July 12 @ 2:47) has it right--I want to BE a baby otter and be pampered like Tazo!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if I dressed up my cats in baby otter suits...then when I get out of the hospital, I can watch more of this impossibly beyond adorable otter pup.
ReplyDeleteOh. My. God. That was ADORABLE! He makes me giggle with joy involuntarily. And I have a beagle mixed with a German shepherd, one of the most adorable dogs ever (Beagle size with tricolor, fluffy fur of a Shepherd).
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I might melt from the preciousness of the otters. Wow. I want one!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwww....
ReplyDelete"I am an otter. I float on my back and do cute things with my hands."
so cute! we were just at the sealife center last week and saw one of these little guys on camera (they don't have them on open display).
ReplyDeleteafter seward, we went fishing in Homer, AK, and saw lots of free sea otters, the best by far was the mama holding her baby! so cute!
a little trivia...what do you call a bunch of otters that are hanging out together?
A: a raft!
thanks for posting this video!
I have a random request that has nothing to do with this post (Except i have to say one thing: CUTEST ANIMAL EVER!!!! other than my puppy. nothing beats my puppy :D)
ReplyDeleteCan you post some pictures of your cats? You talk about them a lot on ckae wrecks and I would love to see them!
Squeee! Soooo cute! Love your post.
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to 60 baby animals.

Since you like otters so much, you gotta check out this link. So cute!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.zooborns.com/zooborns/2010/09/five-baby-otters-first-pups-in-twenty-years-for-santa-barbara.html
since we seem to share the same taste in baby animals, I think you would like an amazing artisan on etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/56845523/tiny-possum-necklace-needle-felted
ReplyDeleteI just blogged about it, and so far my readers are not sharing my enthusiasm. So I thought I would share it with you all!
You know it probably isn't legal to own one of those, but you can get something close.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.pictures-of-puppies-and-dogs.com/images/breed/border/puppy/border_terrier_09.jpg
copy this and paste it in your tool bar and you will see the most otterish, cutest puppy in the world. They are called Border Terriers. I own one and we named him Otto because he looks so much like an otter.
